
It was created in reaction to the fact that many students in San Antonio read below grade level and are struggling to just keep up with their classmates.

They are non-sectarian. Volunteers are from a diversity of cultures and religions.

They assist students by extending reading and mathematics learning opportunities to those in need of support in these areas.

They recruit, train and place volunteers to work with identified learning challenged students in a school environment.

Volunteers commit to working with the same student once a week approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Volunteers choose the day and time they are available to tutor.

Students are selected according to schools and assigned to tutors.
Join this diverse group of more than 150 volunteers. Tu-To-R! now in its fourteenth year, won the 1993 Volunteer Spirit Award from San Antonio Youth Literacy! Be a part of ESL Training, an on-going English language program at different San Antonio schools.
