Children's Education Fund
Light One Candle Children's Education Fund committee was formed in 1992. To fulfill its mission, the committee established a non-profit
Education Fund and an Endowment Fund at the
San Antonio Area Foundation, a 501(c)(3) Texas non-profit community foundation in San Antonio, Texas.
Mission
Light One Candle promotes Peace and Unity in our world by supporting educational programs that provide schoolchildren, regardless of race, creed or color, with a quality academic and value-centered education that emphasizes the importance of diversity, respect for self and others and service to the community. Scholarship and Educational Grants for economically disadvantaged children, regardless of race, creed or color, receiving an education at the pre-school, elementary school, middle school or high school level. The area served by distributions from these Funds includes the entire United Sates and is not limited to Bexar County, Texas or the San Antonio, Texas metropolitan area. Since 1994, Light One Candle has provided for the educational needs of hundreds of students at public and non-public elementary and middle schools primarily in San Antonio, Texas by funding scholarships, educational materials, teacher workshops, children's dance, music and art workshops and international folk dance performances by and for children.
The LIGHT ONE CANDLE Memorial Education Fund (donor advised fund) and
the LIGHT ONE CANDLE Endowment Fund have provided many educational opportunities for students.

A HISTORY OF GIVING
Since 1994, the Light One Candle Education and Endowment Funds have provided over $150,000 in Tuition-Assistance Scholarship and Educational Grants.
The Funds have also provided free workshops in dance, music and art for hundreds of children in public and non-public schools in San Antonio, Texas.
In addition in 2004 and 2005, $12,000 in Educational Grants made possible character education workshops (Operation Respect's "Don't Laugh at Me": www.operationrespect.org) for over 400 public and non-public school teachers inside and outside San Antonio, Texas.

A portion of their profits will go to help economically disadvantaged children in San Antonio Texas with their educational needs.
